This is a sample section from the Cheapskate Vegas Newsletter. Normal issues are 4-6 sections. This issue was originally published on January 19th, 2022 as a part of the newsletter titled “11 Under $10”. A couple of restaurants were removed due to closures.
Ocean One – Miracle Mile Shops
Quietly one of the cheapest eats in Vegas. I can’t vouch for the quality, but every lunch menu item is $4.99 all the time. You can also get $3 beers and 3 for $10 cocktails. Stick with something simple like a burger, which is hard to mess up, and you should be good to go.
PBR Rock Bar – Miracle Mile Shops
I believe I brought this up before, but this may be the cheapest full breakfast on the Strip. Proving that Miracle Mile Shops is a bit overlooked when it comes to inexpensive dining. $7.95 classic breakfast includes two eggs, bacon or sausage, fresh fruit, and a choice of toast. It’s available all day as well.
Coronado Cafe – South Point
As we’ve discussed, South Point has it going on for the cheapskates among us. For the insomniac penny pinchers, Coronado Cafe is where it’s at. Their late-night menu is available from midnight to 6am. That menu features a 7oz steak with two eggs, hash browns, and toast for $5.45. Other publications like to espouse the great Ellis Island steak deal. But c’mon. You always knew I could find something cheaper for you.
Pizza Rock – DTLV
We all know Pizza Rock is solid. We all know they have a decent happy hour. But even their regular menu has plenty to offer for cheap. Namely, the meatballs which you can get 3 for $8.
Coney Island – The D
Of course, no cheap eats menu is complete without some of the best/worst hotdogs you can mustard down. It’s my favorite late-night snack I always end up mildly regretting. I lived in Detroit for 5 years and I had exactly 1 Coney dog in Detroit proper that entire time. I’ve had countless in Vegas. They’re $3.95. So, you know, “when in The D.”
Silver Sevens
I had multiple mentions of Silver Sevens pop up recently. Our friend @JLRPro shared their $4.77 pasta deal which runs from 12 – 2 pm at The Sterling Spoon Cafe. On Pennys 4 Vegas’s November trip daily vlogs, he took advantage of their 77-cent Bud family of beers. If you’ve got a baller appetite and budget, you can always get the $7.77 jumbo shrimp cocktail.
Haute Doggery – Linq Promenade
Yeah, there are cheaper hot dogs, but few dress them up like the Hauties at Haute Doggery do. If I get homesick, I’ll get the Windy City dog for $6.99.
Binion’s Cafe – Binions
Classic, simple staples. What you would expect downtown. It’s like it’s stuck in time. Go with the Binion’s Burger for $7.99.
Dirt Dog – Grand Bazaar Shops, DTLV
I’m including this at the behest of Faces and Aces Las Vegas. Most hot dogs are under $10 and you can get two tacos for $7.50. Has Vegas hit peak hot dog restaurants yet?
Lanai Express – Fremont
For cheap Chinese, look no further. Quality Chinese may need some additional browsing. It’s only $7.99 for a two-item combo which can include Sweet & Sour Chicken, Sweet & Sour Pork, Orange Chicken, or Pepper Steak as a choice of main.
If you’re not sure the paid membership is for you, I have a free version of the newsletter where I publish quick tips. Thanks for reading. Be well.
